From Anxiety to Independence: How BODA’s Accountability Program Transformed One Young Adult’s Journey
Client Profile
Age Group: Young Adult Female (18–23 years old) Program Used: Accountability Program
The Challenge
Our client’s struggles with anxiety began in high school, becoming more pronounced during her senior year. Although she kept up academically, she often felt isolated, overwhelmed, and fell into patterns that didn’t serve her well.
Her parents sought help, connecting her with three different therapists over several years. Each time, she left sessions feeling better for a short while, only to slip back into old habits within days. What was missing was accountability—something beyond traditional weekly therapy to provide consistency and lasting change.

By the time she reached college, her anxiety had escalated. That’s when her mother reached out to BODA Therapy. She joined our Accountability Program, ready to try a new approach.
Our Approach
Her care combined several elements that worked together to create structure, accountability, and lasting change:
  • Individual Therapy: Regular sessions with Andrew offered space to process emotions, set goals, and maintain consistent follow-through.
  • Accountability Tools: With guidance from coaches, she used a WHOOP tracker to monitor sleep, activity, and routines—making her progress visible and helping her stay on track.
  • Family Therapy: Joint sessions with her parents created breakthroughs in communication, teaching the family how to listen, respond, and connect more effectively.
  • Retreat Experience: During an immersive retreat, she worked closely with Andrew and coaches in a supportive environment that deepened her growth and fostered trust and community with peers facing similar challenges.

She especially valued having two complementary avenues: therapy to process her inner world, and coaching to address the physical side of wellness. Together, these approaches built a plan that was realistic, honest, and deeply supportive.
The Results
The transformation has been remarkable:
  • New Confidence: She describes herself as “a totally different person.” Once paralyzed by fear, she now steps into job interviews, social gatherings, and unfamiliar rooms without being defined by anxiety.
  • Resilience: She no longer ties her self-worth to rejection or external validation. Instead, she feels grounded, capable, and ready to bounce back from life’s challenges.
  • Family Healing: Family therapy taught her and her parents how to communicate openly, find common ground, and set healthy boundaries—replacing tension with mutual understanding.
  • Community: She built lasting connections, including peers from the retreat who became trusted friends. This “buddy system” has extended her support network far beyond traditional therapy.
  • Embracing Identity: She is learning to embrace who she is, building confidence even as she navigates job searching and the early stages of adulthood.

Today, she sees herself as secure, confident, and authentically happy with who she is. Her parents echo that she is a “different person”—more grounded, self-assured, and resilient than ever before.
Key Takeaways
  • Accountability Works: Consistent check-ins, tracking, and honest conversations created the structure needed for lasting change.
  • Independence Is the Goal: BODA’s philosophy isn’t about creating dependence—it’s about equipping clients with the tools to graduate with confidence.
  • Family Transformation: Healing extended beyond the individual. Improved communication reshaped her entire household.
  • The Power of Community: Being part of a space where everyone was celebrated and supported helped her feel less alone and more connected.
  • Lasting Impact: After years of trying multiple therapists, BODA was the program that made a marked difference. As her parents shared: “If you spend money on anything, spend it on this. It changed our daughter, and it changed us as a family.”
And in her own words: “I don’t think I’d be the person I am today without BODA. It really changed my life.”
At BODA Therapy, we know that real growth happens where therapy, accountability, and community meet. If you or someone you love is ready to build confidence, resilience, and lasting support, we’d be honored to help guide the journey.

3 months into the Pandemic, my college-age son became extremely anxious. He had signs of mild depression, but the COVID isolation and restrictions at college exacerbated his anxiety greatly. I was super worried until I found Andrew Tepper and BODA Therapy. My son immediately felt at ease working with Andrew to not only figure out the cause of his anxiety, but to also identify coping skills that would stick long term. The best part was that my son was able to do the therapy with Andrew outdoors and through fun activities...which amazingly enough, made him show up each week without question. The “BODA Way” as my son refers to it, is now the only way he works on himself. It’s nice to see my son more at ease, smiling and being OK with his anxiety. Thanks Andrew!”

My sessions with Andrew while skiing were among the most fruitful therapy sessions I’ve had. There’s something about being in nature, having the space to move, reflect, and dig into issues that need solving while in such a beautiful environment that gave me the perspective I needed to get mentally unstuck. If you want high quality therapy while having an amazing time in the outdoors, Andrew’s your guy for sure.
– Robert
The intensive was a great overall experience. I learned a lot about myself. I made connections that will last a lifetime, and I was able to work on myself while feeling safe and comfortable.
– John
Andrew has been our family therapist for over 10 years. We initially went to get help with the dynamics between our four children and help with parenting in the context of raising children ranging from age 2-12 when we began. It does take a village, and Andrew was an integral part of helping our family develop and grow together, while also focusing on individual needs.
– Janine
My son would never do therapy in a traditional office setting. Boda Therapy and Andrew Tepper provided an experiential, active and fun way for my son to work on himself. Boda Therapy is not a one and done program, it’s a support system that makes sense. Thanks to Boda Therapy, my son has learned real coping skills and has the blueprint he needs for maintaining his well being. Boda Therapy is a life-saver.
